We each have an innate ability to recover from the effects of life’s challenges and traumas. While you are the expert on you, you don’t have to do this alone. Humans are wired for connection, and I am eager to support you in growing and healing your connection with yourself and others.
About Me
After working as a nurse for more than 20 years, I changed courses and went back to school to become a therapist specializing in trauma. During my decades in nursing, I worked in settings including trauma/emergency, hospice, home health, and also with adolescents in both psychiatric hospital and residential treatment settings. As a mental health professional, I have worked as a trauma therapist with individuals facing interpersonal and domestic violence challenges. I have treated clients struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, PTSD and Complex PTSD, and dissociation.
My practice is integrative, and I tailor treatment to what will best serve you, including offering the option of using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. The strong connection between our mind and body informs our path to healing. Together, we will create a safe space to focus on deep inner work to empower you to change what you feel is not working well in your life. I will assist you in better understanding yourself as deserving of compassion, love, care, and kindness.
The relationship between a client and their therapist can be a source of healing. Sometimes, this is the first safe connection for trauma survivors. What works for you may not work for someone else, and we will figure that out together. It’s important to have a toolbox of coping strategies to help navigate life’s challenges. I will help you develop a felt sense of safety, understand your wounds, uncover patterns and beliefs, and develop coping strategies to support you in your healing journey.
I am a Neurodivergent, Plural, LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist who specializes in working with individuals with complex trauma, attachment wounds, and dissociation. I strive to create inclusive healing spaces of safety, acceptance, growth, and empowerment, and would be honored to walk with you on your healing journey.
