Jordyn Zalot, RYT 200
Yoga Teacher
I love yoga for its transformative power, both physically and mentally. Yoga offers a sanctuary where I can reconnect with my body and soul. It’s not just about flexibility or strength, but about finding balance and harmony within myself and the world around me. This practice teaches me to be present in the moment, to release stress and tension, and to cultivate inner peace. It is not just a practice but a way of life, guiding me toward greater self-awareness, compassion, and well-being.

About Me
I began my yoga journey in high school. Like many, it started off as a purely physical practice to help me manage a hip injury from running track. In college, yoga grew to become a safe space for me to manage my mental health and explore my spirituality. Currently, I am in a master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling pursuing my goal to marry my love for mental health with my love for yoga to help people improve their well-being.
My passion for yoga continued for more than a decade before I followed my heart and completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training. I graduated with my RYT-200 Certification in November of 2023 with an additional certification in trauma-informed teaching practices. In addition to Evergreen Counseling and Wellness, I have been growing as an instructor by substituting at other studios as well as teaching my mom yoga to help her manage her chronic pain and autoimmune symptoms.
I am a lifelong student and love to expand my knowledge of yoga in every way I can including learning from my students and other instructors. I vow to lead my students on a journey toward all around well-being and greater self-acceptance. In my classes, I aim to foster a community of compassion, non-judgement, and playfulness. I hope you find my classes to be a supportive environment where you can release your anxieties, have fun, and embrace the wonderful benefits of yoga, on and off of your mat.

What Students Are Saying…
“I look forward to my daily yoga practice to keep myself grounded, flexible, and to clean up any mental clutter. From someone who has been practicing for 10 years, I will say that I loved Melinda's class! Her gentle encouragement and attention to individual needs ensured that every student felt supported, challenged, and deepened their practice regardless of their level. I also loved the meditation and the lavender oil during savasana.” - A.K.
“Be where you are; otherwise, you will miss your life.”
